At the age of 55, I returned to Canada in 2018 after living and working abroad for 30 years in multiple countries. My wife, son and I will be leaving Canada permanently in a couple more years. As a born and raised Canadian of 42 years, I made the decision to sell everything I had and end a well-paid 20+ year career the day the regime came to power in Oct. 2015. Within three months my wife and I had fled to her native home of Switzerland. Best decision ever. The reason you go to Canada is for the lifestyle if you are into skiing or something similar and you move to a specific regon for that. My friend moved to the States for rockclimbing. The economy in Canada isnt that great and the value of the dollar is likely to get crushed in the next 2-5 years by the housing bubble. At least Canada has a lot of land, water and is a large exporter of oil.
